Aspira does not directly accept insurance as payment for services.

Your health and peace of mind are your greatest assets.

Our individualized, whole-person treatment model is an INVESTMENT.

We have partnered with Alma, which allows us to accept some Aetna, Cigna, Optum(United Healthcare), and Oxford insurance plans.  To see if you are eligible, click here.  We do not offer the ability to accept insurance outside of Alma.

At Aspira, we treat the whole person, not diagnoses.

Insurance pays for disease management, and we focus on disease prevention.

While using your insurance has the clear benefit of reducing your out of pocket costs for care, there are some downsides.

When insurance is used to pay for services, a physician must assign or diagnose you with a “medical or mental disorder” with a “billable code” in order to prove that your service/treatment is “medically necessary”.

This diagnosis becomes a permanent part of your record in central insurance databases. These databases are used to determine rates and suitability for life, health, disability and other forms of insurance. To be clear, this database should by NO MEANS be viewed as a barrier or reason not to engage in mental or physical health services, whether paid out of pocket or with insurance.  If care is needed or desired, it should absolutely be obtained.

At Aspira, we simply offer an added layer of confidentiality and the freedom and flexibility  to provide a wider range of evidenced based treatments and preventive care, before symptoms become illness, disease or cause significant impairment.

Our focus is not on billable codes but identification and management of the root causes of mental health symptoms in order to achieve holistic, whole person (mind/body/spirit/ lifestyle) wellbeing.

For these reasons, we do not accept insurance.

We see health as wealth.

We provide transformative, safe, evidenced based and informed care.

We treat you, not your insurance plan.

We do not engage in status quo healthcare.

We do not limit our services to insurance approved drug lists and treatments.

We provide high value care while being mindful of costs and your ultimate RETURN ON INVESTMENT

In addition to medications, we offer dietary supplements that can improve your mental and overall health, usually with far less risk of side effects.

If you have out-of-network benefits with your insurer, we can provide a superbill (receipt), upon request, for you to use to seek reimbursement from your insurer.  Insurance companies will often reimburse 40-80% the cost of out-of-network services, for people with out-of-network benefits, after they have met their deductible.

Additionally, we are registered with Reimbursify, a 3rd party service that assists with insurance reimbursement for patients with out of network benefits. Click Here to Learn More!

We offer primarily online only services.

We offer services to clients who reside/have proof of residence in the following states:  AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, LA, MD, NC, NJ, NV, PA, TX, VA, WA

On rare occasions, in-person appointments are available in Atlanta, GA.

This space was created with the unique needs of professional Black women and women of color in mind, given the shortage of services available that cater to their unique needs. With that said, we are a women’s mental health practice and welcome all women regardless of race/ethnicity.

We work with clients who are appropriate for online therapy.

Our online mental health services are not be the best fit for you if you have more severe mental health concerns such as severe major depression, severe anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use/dependence, are experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts, or have a history of suicide attempts.
Individuals experiencing these mental health concerns need more intensive services than we provide and benefit from team-based care.

We do not offer this as a service for new clients. New clients who are seeking out services with this as a focus are encouraged to seek another provider.

For existing clients who have been seen for at least 5 sessions, forms may be filled out on a case by case basis, subject to Dr. Hypolite’s approval and availability and our billable hour rate for documentation

Dr. Hypolite recommends that most if not all her clients engage in psychotherapy.

Dr. Hypolite believes that psychotherapy is a vital part of mental health and wellness.

She offers therapy to clients on a case by case basis, determined after completing the psychiatric consultation. When Dr. Hypolite offers psychotherapy, this is usually to clients who are also receiving medication and/or supplement management services from her.

In the event that Dr. Hypolite is not able to offer you psychotherapy but is able to offer medication and/or supplements for mental health, she will work closely with your therapist or provide resources to assist in finding one.

Dr. Hypolite offers the following types of therapy:

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Wellness-Centered and Solution-Focused Approach

Christian or Faith-Based Counseling

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy

Therapy sessions are conducted weekly and usually take a minimum of 8-12 weekly sessions to complete treatment goals.

During your first appointment, we start with getting to know each other. I ask in more detail what brings you to treatment. I ask you questions about your history, lifestyle, and background to better understand your needs. I will share with you treatment recommendations.
I also allow time for you to ask any questions about recommendations, services, and our policies and procedures.

We definitely understand that filling out forms is not fun!

Given that our services are online, we leverage technology to provide an efficient, cost-saving, and confidential intake process.

We do require completion of forms after completing the pre-screening and before scheduling your consultation.

Completing the forms takes about 15 to 20 minutes for most people.

By having our clients fill out forms and rating scales about their prior treatment history, medical history, and the symptoms they would like to address, we are able to efficiently learn about your treatment needs, get you started on your path to optimal health, and reduce the amount of time in session, thereby reducing the cost of the initial intake appointment. If Dr. Hypolite instead collected all of the information in session that are on the forms, the length of time needed to complete an initial consultation and the cost of it would double.

We also find that having clients complete forms ahead of their initial consultation can help clients get in the mindset to prepare for their journey towards optimal mental health and wellness!

We believe that goodness of fit between doctors/clinicians and patients is essential to optimal health outcomes!

Our process begins with pre-screening prospective clients in order to attempt to determine goodness of fit as early as possible.

Mental health private practices are not one size fits all. Neither is Dr. Hypolite’s approach to mental health and wellness.

With over 20 years in the field, Dr. Hypolite has honed in on the clients who receive the best and most consistent treatment outcomes and who achieve optimal health and wellness with her services.

Dr. Hypolite’s private practice is highly specialized, and its areas of focus are high functioning anxiety, high functioning depression, and professional burnout in professional black women and women of color.

Our pre-screening and initial consultation help us determine if our services are well suited to meet your needs. In the event that we are not able to offer an initial consultation or ongoing services after the initial consultation, we can provide you with resources to assist in finding a provider in your area.

Yes, this form allows us to explore if our services are a good fit for you.  Goodness of fit between a mental health provider and a patient/client is essential and greatly impacts treatment outcomes.  Taking 5 minutes to fill out this form can help you conserve precious time, money, and energy, and help determine if we are the best provider for you.

We definitely understand that filling out forms is not fun!

Given that our services are online, we leverage technology to provide an efficient, cost-saving, and confidential intake process.

We do require completion of the consultation request form prior scheduling and approving services with Dr. Hypolite.

We also require intake forms which need to be completed at least 2 days prior to your appointment for your initial consultation with Dr. Hypolite.

Completing the intake forms takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

By having patients fill out forms and rating scales about their current concerns, prior treatment history, and medical history, Dr. Hypolite is able to effectively and efficiently learn about your needs, get you started on your path to optimal health, and spend more time in session getting to know you.

These forms also reduce the cost of the initial intake appointment. If Dr. Hypolite instead collected all of the information in session that is on the forms, the length of time needed to complete an initial consultation would more than double the cost of the session.

We also find that having clients complete forms ahead of their initial consultation can help you get in the mindset to prepare for your journey towards optimal mental health and wellness!

I also allow time for you to ask any questions about recommendations, services, and our policies and procedures.

After completing the pre-consultation form and reviewing our website, if you still have questions, you can schedule a free 10 minute conversation with our Practice Assistant to address any remaining questions.  Please note that our secure email is the most efficient means of communication.

We are a private pay practice. This means that we accept credit cards and health savings/flexible spending account cards as payment for services.

If you have out-of-network benefits with your insurance plan, we provide detailed receipts (superbills) that you can choose to use to submit to your insurance provider to request reimbursement from them based on your health plan benefits. In some cases, patients are able get reimbursed 40 to100% of the cost of our services once they meet their deductible. You can contact your insurance provider to learn more about their reimbursement policies.

Additionally, to assist with accessing our services, we contract with two, third party companies, Alma and Headway. This option is available on a case-by-base basis, which is subject to availability; and it allows our patients with some Aetna, Optum, Oxford, Oscar, and Cigna plans to use their health insurance as payment for our services. This option is only available in states where Dr. Hypolite is licensed and for health insurance plans that either Alma or Headway accepts and can verify. You can go to their websites to learn more about their insurance verification.

Note: We do occasionally reach a maximum on how many Alma and Headway clients we can accept, so this is not a guaranteed option. If you have verified your insurance with Alma or Headway and are interested in our services, you can email us at support@drhypolite.com to inquire if we currently have availability for Alma or Headway patients.
